This is the standard humidifier chamber for the Fisher and Paykel HC220 and HC230, with an aluminium plate intended for short-term use.
The base does not remove, so it is designed to be replaced rather than deep-cleaned, and it corrodes faster with tap water.

Frequently asked questions
Which water chamber fits my machine?
Water chambers are specific to each machine model, so you'll need the one made for your machine. Check your machine model against this product's listing, or ask our team and we'll confirm the right chamber, and whether a cleanable or standard version suits you.
How often should I replace the chamber?
As a general guide, every 6 to 12 months, or sooner if you see cloudiness, cracks, pitting or mineral scale that won't wash off. Standard chambers wear faster than cleanable ones. A chamber that's clouded or scaled is worth replacing to keep the water clean and the seal good.
Should I use distilled or tap water?
Distilled water is recommended — it has no minerals, so it prevents the scale build-up that clouds and shortens the life of the chamber. Tap water is fine for the occasional night if that's all you have, but for regular use distilled keeps the chamber cleaner for longer.
How do I clean the chamber?
Empty it each morning and rinse it, then wash it weekly in warm soapy water with a gentle, fragrance-free soap and air-dry out of direct sunlight. For mineral scale, soak in one part white vinegar to two parts water, then rinse well. Don't put it in the dishwasher unless the chamber is marked dishwasher-safe.
The standard chamber like many of the chambers from Fisher and Paykel has an aluminium plate which will corrode quite quickly when using tap water. These are designed for short term usage and when it is too dirty it is designed to throw away. The base of the chamber doesn’t remove and hence the chamber is difficult to clean.
