CPAP Buying Guides

These guides help you understand the options so you can have a more informed conversation with your clinician and pick equipment that suits you. This is general product information, not medical advice.

Choosing a machine

Things people commonly weigh up:

  • Fixed vs auto-adjusting. Whether a set pressure or an automatically adjusting range suits you is a clinical decision made with your physician.
  • Humidification. Built-in humidifiers and heated tubing can make the air more comfortable, especially in dry conditions.
  • Travel. If you travel often, a compact travel machine may matter to you. See the AirMini range within CPAP machines.
  • Data and connectivity. Many machines record usage data your clinician can review.

Choosing a mask

Mask style is personal and affects comfort more than almost anything else:

  • Full face covers the nose and mouth, often chosen by people who breathe through their mouth.
  • Nasal covers the nose only.
  • Nasal pillows sit at the nostrils and are the most minimal.

It is common to try more than one style before settling. Browse CPAP masks and read the mask fitting guide.

Packages vs buying separately

A package pairs a machine with one or more masks and is a straightforward way to get a complete setup. Buying separately gives you more control over the exact mask. Either way, you can add or change masks later.

Consumables and ongoing parts

Cushions, filters, tubing, and humidifier chambers are replaced over time. Stocking the right consumables keeps your setup hygienic. See mask parts, machine parts, and filters.
